How To Deal With The Loose Hinge
Jun 17, 2021
The hinge may become loose after being used for a long period of time. If a similar situation occurs in the hinges at home, don't panic. Mawang will use stainless steel hinges as an example to talk about how to deal with the loose hinges.
Method 1: Fix it again. For hinges that have been loosened, the most direct and easiest way is to fix them again. For example, use a four-hole base instead of a two-hole base; or replace the original fixing screw with a screw with a deeper thread to avoid screw slippage.
Method 2: Fill the gap. Some hinges are loose because the gap between the screw and the door leaf has become larger. If this is the case, it can be handled by filling the gaps. Coat the sharpened wood with white glue and fill it into the screw hole. This can increase the strength of the screw.
Method 3: Replace with a new hinge. This is the most troublesome and the most expensive way to deal with it. Remove the original hinge and replace it with a new one. Because the door leaf or door frame with the hinge removed will have unevenness, it needs to be properly treated before the new hinge can be reinstalled.
